Transparent Value calculates the Required Business Performance® probabilities
used in the Dow Jones RBP IndexesSM and licenses the RBP®
probabilities exclusively to Dow Jones IndexesSM for the construction
of domestic and global rules-based indexes. These indexes are known as the Dow Jones
RBP IndexesSM (DJRBP).
Incorporating the index approach and the RBP methodology, Transparent Value seeks to offer
investment strategies tailored to suit client needs. These strategies may be based
on any of a wide variety of existing Dow Jones RBP IndexesSM. Under certain
circumstances, new or customized indexes may be created with an aim to meet clients’ requirements.
Fundamentally analyzed, quantitatively selected
The principle behind the Dow Jones RBP Family of IndexesSM is simple:
companies are selected based on a given company’s likelihood of delivering its Required
Business Performance®, based on our analysis.
Transparent Value combines the characteristics of passive and active investing into
a single investment product that aims to provide transparency and consistent performance
with a competitive fee structure.
Our investment methodology is based on a proprietary measure called Required Business
Performance® (RBP®). RBP seeks to measure the performance
that is implied in the price of a stock. It is the measurement that tries to link
a company’s stock price to what its management does on a day-to-day basis.
RBP not only seeks to determine the revenue necessary to support a given stock price for a given
company, but it works to tell us at the most granular level how
many iPods® Apple has to sell, how many stores Starbucks has to open,
or how many packages FedEx has to ship to support the price of its stock.
