Armen Arus is chief operating officer and co-chief executive officer of
Transparent Value. He is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the firm. He
heads our product and index development, ensuring that our standards and
philosophy are consistent throughout the firm.
Armen joined the Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities group of Lehman Brothers
Inc. in 1996 as an analyst. He was responsible for evaluating and analyzing
real estate investment projects. He built detailed valuation models for
retained assets and performed sensitivity analyses to help quantify the
behavior of securitizable assets.
In 1999, Armen joined the Acquisition Finance group of Chase Securities, where
he recommended capital structure and financing strategies to private equity
clients. He helped the group formulate strategies around high-yield bonds,
convertible preferred stock and mezzanine and syndicated loans. He also
conducted qualitative and quantitative analyses for leveraged buyouts,
management buyouts and M&A transactions.
In 2000, Armen joined Financial Resource Group LLC, a boutique investment
banking and private equity firm. He worked on all aspects of executing private
equity, M&A and bridge-financing transactions. Armen also developed new
risk-assessment tools to mitigate investment-loss exposure. These processes
provided a platform for analyzing investment opportunities by clearly showing
the link between valuation and business performance.
Armen graduated from the New York University Stern School of Business with a
finance degree. He is a regular guest lecturer at numerous prestigious
universities in India.
